Orville Z. Tsinnie (1943–2017) was a Diné silversmith and katsina carver from Shiprock, New Mexico, who worked in heavy-gauge silver for nearly 50 years after learning from his Hopi brother-in-law, Horace Emerson, in 1973. He won first place at the 37th Navajo Craftsman Exhibition at the Museum of Northern Arizona in 1986, was named Artist of the Year by the Indian Arts and Crafts Association, and received the IACA's Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. His work was exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art's sculpture court at the Philip Morris atrium in New York and at the Heard Museum, and he showed regularly at Santa Fe Indian Market. Several of his pieces are held in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.
